I recently had a new PC built at Microcenter, and now that I'm home, I'm struggling to get it connected to my WiFi. They installed Windows 11 for me and assured me everything necessary was set up, but I can't even start updating the system without an internet connection. My motherboard is a PRO X870E-P, GPU is a 5080, and CPU is a 9800x3d. Although I'm in the basement, my other devices (like my laptop and Surface Pro) don't have any signal issues. Is there something I'm missing? It seems like a signal strength problem, but I only see one bar on my new PC. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might need to install the WiFi driver for your motherboard. Without it, your PC won't be able to connect properly. If Microcenter set everything up, they should have installed this, but it's worth checking. Make sure the WiFi antenna is connected too; if it's not, that could also be causing the weak signal.
You’re right! If they managed to install Windows, they should’ve had to connect to the internet for that. It’s strange that you can see the router but are getting such a weak signal.
Make sure you’re actually on the desktop first. Click the Windows icon at the bottom-left, search for WiFi settings, and try connecting there. Just don't connect with an ethernet cable; stick to WiFi. If your router is visible and you're entering the right password, that should work!
Thanks for the tip! I'll try that.
Just a heads up: I jumped the gun too quickly. I can see my router but the signal is too weak to connect. I already restarted the router too.
But wouldn’t the Microcenter staff have installed the driver? And they must've connected the antenna too, right? If they said everything was done, I'm surprised you're having this issue!
