Help! My New Ryzen 9 9800X3D Build Keeps Crashing – RAM or CPU Issue?

Hey everyone, I recently upgraded my system with a Ryzen 9 9800X3D and I'm facing some serious stability issues. Here are my current specs:

- **CPU:** Ryzen 9 9800X3D
- **Motherboard:** ASUS ROG STRIX B850-A
- **RAM:** KLEVV CRAS V RGB DDR5 7200MHz CL34 (2x16GB)

The motherboard only boots when the RAM is in slots 2 & 4 (A2 + B2), which seems normal according to the manual, but I'm wondering if that's typical. The main problem is that the PC keeps crashing even when I disable EXPO and set the RAM to 4800MHz CL40. I thought the instability might just be with the higher speed, but it's still happening at 4800. I suspect it could be a CPU issue, but I'm not sure how to diagnose it.

I've attempted a few things like:
- Booting with just one RAM stick
- Resetting the CMOS
- Ensuring the RAM is seated correctly

I haven't reseated the CPU yet, but I'm worried it could be an issue with the CPU's integrated memory controller (IMC) or maybe the motherboard itself.

Here are my specific questions:
1. Is it common for slots 1 & 3 not to work?
2. If the system crashes even at 4800MHz, does that indicate a CPU/IMC issue, BIOS problems, or bad RAM?
3. What BIOS settings (voltages, SOC, etc.) would you recommend to stabilize things?

Any help would be appreciated before I start replacing parts!

I’ve heard some folks say for AM5 platforms like this, you really should be running 6000MHz or higher for optimal performance. It might not be a solid rule, but you could give that a shot!

I’ve tried everything from 6000 to 7200 to even 4800MHz and it still crashes. I’m hoping the RAM sticks are faulty, so I’m planning to return them for new ones.
