Help! My New SSD Won’t Boot Up

I just purchased a Samsung Evo 870 1TB SSD because my old one got hacked. After connecting it to my PC, I booted the system, but it went straight to the BIOS, indicating there was no boot device. I checked the boot settings, and it was showing up there, so I saved my changes, but upon rebooting, it again entered the BIOS, and now it's not listed as a boot device—only appearing in the information section. I've tried reconnecting and disconnecting the SSD multiple times, even changed the cables around, but nothing seems to work. It's a brand new SSD, so I don't think the ports are the issue. What should I do next? Any advice?

Hey! Did you remember to install an operating system on your new SSD? It sounds like it might be the issue since a brand new SSD won't have anything on it to boot from.

Yeah, I'm realizing now that I forgot to install an OS. I'm still pretty new to all this PC stuff.

Just to confirm, does your new SSD have any OS installed? If it's completely new and empty, that would definitely explain why it won't boot.

Yup, I just figured out that it’s a totally new SSD so that’s probably the problem. I really don’t know much about PCs yet.

By the way, storage devices like SSDs and HDDs don't get hacked in the traditional sense. Could you explain how your old SSD was hacked?

I got a call from a guy claiming he helps people who've been hacked. He told me they had access to all my passwords, emails, bank details... so he advised me to destroy my old SSD and get a new one.
