Help! My PC Crashes After Factory Reset, What Could Be Wrong?

I recently factory reset my PC, and now I'm facing crashes when trying to play most games. I've checked my graphic drivers, and I'm confident they're fine. However, I noticed that my external hard drive shows that half of its storage is occupied by files I can't seem to access. Before the reset, I had no issues with these games, but now when my PC crashes, the fans go wild, and it just turns off without any blue screen. I'm not sure what to do next!

Just a heads up—the built-in factory reset option can be tricky and sometimes messes things up. A clean installation of Windows is usually a better choice for avoiding these issues.

Don’t forget to update your motherboard chipset drivers! After a reset, Windows often defaults to generic versions, which can be unstable. It's crucial to get the latest from your manufacturer's site. Also, using Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode to remove your GPU drivers completely before reinstalling the latest version can resolve problems too. As for those files on your external drive, they could be leftover system files you can safely ignore.

It sounds like your issues might be related to hardware rather than just software. When the fans ramp up and the system powers off without a blue screen, here are a few things worth checking:
1. Look for overheating—monitor your CPU and GPU temperatures under load using tools like HWInfo or HWMonitor.
2. Make sure your power supply can handle the load; sometimes, they start failing under stress.
3. After a reset, missing chipset and power management drivers can cause issues, so try installing them directly from the manufacturer's website.
Also, consider testing without the external hard drive connected; it might help rule out any conflicts.
