Help! My PC Keeps Crashing While Playing Games

I've got a pretty high-end setup, including an Nvidia RTX 4090 and an Intel Core i9 14900KF, but I'm experiencing constant crashes when trying to play games like Elden Ring. It runs smoothly at first, but then crashes at random moments—sometimes before cutscenes, during fast travel, or even just loading a character. I also get black screens that send me back to the desktop, and occasionally, my character and the game world go invisible except for the skybox. I've tried numerous troubleshooting steps, including updating all drivers, adjusting BIOS settings, and checking the health of my SSDs. I also ran memory tests and moved games around to different drives. My CPU and GPU temperatures stay low and usage is under control, but I'm starting to worry that my CPU might be failing. Can anyone offer advice or insights on what might be going wrong?

You mentioned Mikro stutter while web browsing as well. That could indicate an overall bottleneck or memory issue. Sometimes, even if the temps are good, the components can still act unpredictably. I'd also suggest running your GPU at stock settings without any overclocking and see if things stabilize.

Honestly, it could be a CPU stability problem with overclocking. Your 14900K is powerful, but sometimes pushing the cores too far can lead to crashes. You mentioned that lowering the cores to 53x helped a bit—have you done any extensive stress testing? Software like Prime95 or ycruncher can help identify if your CPU or RAM is under stress. If it happens with those, it might be time to consider a replacement.

It sounds like you’ve already done a lot of troubleshooting, but have you checked for any dump files? They can provide insight into what’s causing those BSODs. You can find them in C:WindowsMinidump. If you have them, upload a couple to a file sharing site—there are guides on how to do that. It could help pinpoint whether it's a software issue or if your CPU is indeed failing.

Just a heads-up, even the best GPUs can have VRAM issues if there’s a memory leak in a game. With the issues you’re having in Tekken, it could be worth monitoring VRAM usage while you play. And don’t forget to check if the problem happens in other games—this could pinpoint a software issue rather than hardware.
