I recently upgraded my PC and since early June, I've been getting random Blue Screens of Death (BSOD) with the error code "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL." I've tried updating drivers (one was missing, but that didn't fix anything), checked my RAM for issues (no problems found), and played around with some commands in the console. The crashes still happen even when I'm not doing anything intensive! I tried using Bluescreenview to analyze the issue but I'm not quite sure what the results mean. I read something online about unapproved memory usage causing this, but I'm at a loss on how to fix it without potentially erasing everything (I've heard that might help but I really don't want to take that risk). I've got the DMP error files as well, but I'm unsure how to interpret or use them.

First off, let’s make sure your BIOS settings are solid. If everything seems stable in the BIOS (no freezes or glitches), try updating it to the latest version (7B86vHN). You can find the update on the MSI support page for your motherboard. After that, download the latest AMD Chipset Drivers from AMD's site - stick to the Chipset Driver installer only, as the others can sometimes create more issues. This could help reduce those pesky crashes!
It sounds like you could really use those dump files to figure out what's going wrong. If you can boot into Windows normally or through Safe Mode, check for any dump files in C:WindowsMinidump. If you find them, zip the folder and upload them to a file-sharing site. Having multiple dump files is helpful for analysis, so if you only have one or none, make sure to follow the guide on creating small memory dumps. That way, you'll have something to work with!
Thanks for the tip! I actually found a couple of dump files. I’ll zip them and give it a shot. Fingers crossed they help!
I’ve been meaning to check my BIOS. If it’s from 2020, maybe updating it to the latest is a good idea. I just worry about messing something up in the process! What if I went for an older version instead?
