I've been having a frustrating issue while playing the game Grounded. My PC has rebooted unexpectedly three times today, going black for about a second before restarting, and I haven't seen a BSOD or anything helpful. After researching, I found logs in Event Viewer that say 'system restarted due to bugcheck.'
I looked into it further and came across other users who had similar problems linked to driver issues while gaming. I updated my drivers and did a clean install, but after the last reboot, my access to Event Viewer was cut off once again, and now I'm encountering a BSOD with a 'page fault in nonpaged' error every time I boot up. My PC also freezes for several seconds as startup apps load, which is new behavior. It's strange because everything was working perfectly until I started playing Grounded.
I've run both Chkdsk and Windows Memory Diagnostics, and they reported no issues. Just to give some context, my build has been smooth since 2024 with no problems. Here are my specs:
- Ryzen 9590x
- RTX 4070s
- 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 RAM
- B550 Aorus Elite AX V2
- Samsung 980 Pro 1TB
I'm at a loss here, so any ideas or help would be super appreciated!

It sounds like your PC is crashing due to some underlying issue with drivers, especially since the dump files are pointing to 'mtkbtfilterx.sys', which is a MediaTek Bluetooth driver. Have you checked if you're using a version of Bluetooth that could be causing this? Double-check your motherboard revision; it might help in finding the right driver. Maybe try disabling Bluetooth in the BIOS if you’re not using it to see if that stabilizes things.
I had a similar problem before, and often it was tied to outdated drivers or hardware conflicts. If you’re using older peripherals or if they’re not supported, it could lead to those crashes. Make sure to check for the latest drivers for all your devices, especially for any wireless dongles or Bluetooth devices, and if possible, disconnect any unnecessary peripherals to test stability.
If you can't upload the dump files, try booting into Safe Mode and see if you can get them from there. You can use a file-sharing site that isn't blocked. Once you have the dumps ready, it’s easier to analyze what’s really going on with the crashes. Also, consider looking at any recent Windows updates or changes that might coincide with when your problems started.
