Hi everyone,
I'm facing a weird issue with my PC and could really use some help. It randomly shuts down partially once or twice a day, but here's the twist: it's not a full Windows freeze. The system doesn't lock up completely. Instead, it's like the PC 'dies' without actually turning off.
Here's what happens:
- The PC partially 'dies', but doesn't fully shut down.
- All my USB devices like the keyboard, mouse, and Stream Deck shut down.
- The audio drivers stop working completely, so there's no sound.
- However, my monitors stay on, and if I'm playing a video (like on YouTube), it keeps playing without sound but without freezing—so the video continues to move.
At this point, I can't do anything and have to force reboot.
I've been doing some research, but I'm unsure if this is a power supply issue, motherboard/USB controller problem, or even something related to the power outlet. Has anyone else run into this problem or have any guesses on what might be causing it?
Thanks a lot!

I had a similar situation before, and it turned out to be my graphics card acting up. I hope replacing yours does the trick! Just make sure your power supply can handle it as well. Sometimes, if a PSU isn’t providing enough power, it could lead to weird issues like the one you’re having.
I totally get what you're going through. It sounds frustrating! Have you checked the event viewer for any errors? That might give you some clues about what's malfunctioning. Also, since you mentioned the audio keeps playing sometimes, are you sure it’s not that the OS is becoming unresponsive? Just in case, check if there are any dump files created around the time the issue happens—those can be helpful for troubleshooting.
