I was playing Dead by Daylight when I tried to use the Steam overlay by pressing 'X'. The game started buffering, but then everything went black while I could still hear audio in the background. After I turned off my PC, I hoped it would reboot normally, but now it just displays a greyish-black screen with Windows audio after the splash screen. I've tried unplugging the power cable, but that hasn't fixed the issue. I recently built this PC and it has been working fine until now. Here are my specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 5500
GPU: GTX 1080
Motherboard: Gigabyte A520M K V2
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 (2x8)
Monitor: Acer Nitro KG241Y
PSU: EVGA 750 GT
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

It sounds like there might be an issue with your graphics card. Do you have an integrated video card? If so, you could try booting using that instead of the GTX 1080 to see if it helps.

My HDMI is connected directly to the GPU, and I haven't had any issues with it until now. Could it be overheating?
