I've been facing a frustrating issue with my internet connection. Even though I'm connected to the internet via ethernet, the internet connection icon doesn't show up, and when I try to access the settings on my PC, it closes automatically. I've tried the usual fixes like running `sfc /scannow` and `dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth`, but nothing seems to work. This is really problematic because I can't upgrade to Windows 11, update my Nvidia drivers, or even use apps like Spotify. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Try using the shortcut Win + R to open the Run dialog, then type `cmd` and hit enter. After that, type `ncpa.cpl` and see what network adapters come up for you. That might give us a clue about what’s going on!
You might want to head to Device Manager, locate the network adapters, and find your ethernet controller. Right-click on it and choose to uninstall the device. Then, restart your computer and see if that resolves the issue. If that doesn’t help, try updating the drivers afterward!
I just tried that, and here's a screenshot of what I see:

I only see one adapter listed. Here’s a screenshot:
