Help! My PC Won’t Boot After Changing RAM Settings in BIOS

I need some assistance! I entered my BIOS and changed the RAM frequency from 3200 MHz to 3600 MHz because I just installed new RAM that supports that speed. After saving the changes and exiting, my PC powers on but fails to boot up properly. What steps should I take to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance for any help!

It seems like your RAM might be struggling with the speed change. First, turn off your PC and unplug it. Then, try pulling the battery out for a few minutes. When you put it back, turn on your PC and it should reset your BIOS to default settings. If it boots up fine, you can then try setting the RAM back to 3600 MHz carefully using XMP.

I tried setting my RAM back to 3600 MHz after a reset, but I keep getting an overclocking failure error. What could be causing that?

Try resetting your BIOS by doing a CMOS reset. You could do this by removing the motherboard battery for a few minutes or looking for a jumper near the CMOS battery. This will restore the default settings, allowing your PC to boot up again. After that, you can manually set your RAM to the correct settings using XMP or DOCP instead of manually entering the frequency.

If you're stuck and can’t boot your PC, check to see if there's a jumper near your CMOS battery that you need to remove to reset it. This usually helps clear up any issues caused by incorrect settings. Just make sure to unplug your PC before doing anything!

You might want to revert your RAM settings to how they were before you made changes. Sometimes the new speed can cause instability, especially if your system isn't entirely compatible with it. Just take it back to 3200 MHz and see if that helps!
