Help! My PC Won’t Boot After Installing a New GPU

Hey folks, I recently put a new graphics card into my computer, but when I tried to power it on afterward, it wouldn't boot at all—it was like it had no power. I double-checked that everything was plugged in properly and that the power switch was on. I accidentally pressed the BIOS flashback button on the back of the motherboard, and I'm wondering if that might be causing the issue. Any ideas on what could be going wrong? I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Pressing the BIOS flashback button could definitely be an issue. I suggest trying to perform an actual BIOS update if your motherboard supports it without turning on the system. Sometimes, brands like MSI allow you to do this. But keep in mind this might not work if your system is completely unresponsive.

If it seems completely dead, it might not even be the BIOS button causing the problem. Check all your power connectors; something might have come loose during the GPU installation. Also, make sure the power cable is firmly connected to the PSU. Those three-pronged cables can be a bit tricky to get in securely. If it’s not plugged in firmly enough, it won’t power up at all.

First off, check if your power supply unit (PSU) has enough wattage to support the new GPU. If the PSU can’t provide enough power, it can cause your PC to seem completely dead. This happened to me once—my computer turned on briefly, then there was a loud pop! It scared me half to death, but the PSU was just barely over its limit. If you've tried reinstalling your old graphics card and it's still not booting, you might want to consider if the PSU got fried in the process.
