Hey everyone, I was curious and took a look at a zip bomb-themed APK using WinRAR, which turned out to be a bad idea. My PC has been crashing randomly lately, probably due to my hostel's unreliable power supply. When I tried to scan and remove the zip bomb using my antivirus, my PC crashed and then gave me the blue screen of death. Normally, I can fix this by reseating the cable that connects my SSD since it's usually just a little loose, but this time I messed things up. I ended up unplugging all removable cables instead of just the SSD one. Now, my PC won't even turn on. I've marked the affected cables in the comments. I use a UPS because of frequent power cuts. Here are my specs: 650W power supply, GeForce RTX 4060, Ryzen 5 8600G, 32GB of RAM, and MSI B650M. I used to know a lot about tech, but I've been out of the loop lately. If I missed anything, just let me know. Thanks!

A zip bomb can really mess up your hard drive by filling it with junk, making it hard for Windows to even boot. I suggest you create a bootable Linux USB or DVD. This way, you can bypass Windows and access the drive to clean it up. Popular distros like Slackware or Mint could be useful here. Once you get in, try finding and deleting those problematic files or use a utility to fix any potential NTFS corruption.
I actually have an SSD set up just for Arch Linux, but the issue is my PC doesn’t even start up at all. Thanks for the tip though!
