I have an old computer, and while trying to install some new RAM, it suddenly stopped booting up. I even took the RAM out, but now my PC still won't turn on. To make things worse, it seems to be causing electrical problems in my house, like it's messing with the power. What should I do to fix this?

Did you make sure to completely cut the power before installing the RAM? Sometimes leaving power on can cause issues. It's also possible that something got damaged, especially if you used force during installation. Since you mentioned your system is old, could you share the make and model? Also, what type of RAM were you attempting to install? Knowing the existing setup helps a lot!
You might want to ensure your power supply isn’t the issue, either. If your PC is making strange sounds when you plug in the PSU, there could be a fault there, too. Double-check everything before going further.
When you say your PC is "disturbing the electricity in the entire house", what do you mean? Did the lights flicker or something? Generally, a PC should not cause these issues unless there’s a problem with the power supply or the home’s wiring. Try resetting the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery, and also get an electrician to check your home wiring if needed.
I found out it’s mostly just my living room TV that was affected, not the whole house. The power seems fine otherwise. And yeah, when I plug my PSU in, there’s this weird noise that sounds like there’s residual current. I’ll remove the CMOS battery and let you know what happens.
Glad you’re on it! It sounds like you’re making progress. Let everyone know if the BIOS reset helps. If your PC was fine for 3 months, this is likely something minor to fix.

I didn’t power it down fully; I guess I should have pressed the power button a few times to discharge it. The RAM was tough to fit, so I'm worried I did something wrong. I’m using an Asus H81M-K motherboard, and the RAM is Kingston 8 GB. I’ll share a picture of the RAM label for clarity.
