Help! My PC Won’t Boot Due to BIOS Compatibility Issues

Hey everyone, I'm at my wits' end here and could really use some help. Recently, I built a new PC but I'm running into a major roadblock. My motherboard, a preowned Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX, isn't compatible with my brand new 9600x CPU. Luckily, the board supports Qflash+, which should allow me to update the BIOS using a USB drive.

I downloaded the latest BIOS from the GIGABYTE website and followed the tutorial exactly—renaming the BIOS file to "gigabyte.bin," inserting it into the correct USB slot, and pressing the BIOS button for three seconds. Here's the catch: I don't see any indication that it's working. The USB stick doesn't even light up when accessed, which has me worried. I've also tried a newer Lexar USB with no luck.

I've unplugged my GPU, RAM, and CPU and tried booting while both on and off. I doubt my motherboard is dead since it still attempts to diagnose issues with the CPU's power. Any idea where I might be going wrong? I'm really frustrated! Also, I should note my USB sticks weren't formatted to GPT, and I disconnected everything but the motherboard. Thanks for any help!

Just checking to make sure you've got power going to the motherboard and that your PSU is switched on. Also, take a look at your motherboard box to see what BIOS version it shipped with. If it’s version F30 or above, it should be compatible already, which means that might not be the root of your issue.

First things first, make sure your USB drive is formatted to FAT32. Some motherboards are finicky and might even work better with FAT16, especially on smaller drives. Also, try plugging it into a USB 2.0 port—some boards work better with specific ports for BIOS updates. By the way, when you say your cooler is 'just about secure,' that might not be enough. If it's not making solid contact, you could run into cooling problems later on.
