I'm having a frustrating issue where my computer completely freezes right after I sign in. The only way I can get it to shut down is by holding the power button. I recently updated Windows and the only hardware change I've made is adding new RAM. I'm not sure what else to do at this point.

Have you tried taking out the new RAM and going back to your old one? Sometimes that can help identify if it's the new RAM causing the problem. Also, check if Secure Boot is enabled in your BIOS settings. I ran into a similar issue where my PC would freeze during the login process, and it turned out Secure Boot was the culprit.
Secure Boot can be a little tricky if you're not familiar with it, so don't hesitate to look up how to disable it. If removing the new RAM doesn't work, you might want to consider running a system restore or booting into Safe Mode to troubleshoot further.
