Help! My PC Won’t Show Any Output After Upgrading the CPU

I recently upgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 5 5600 on my B450 Tomahawk motherboard, replacing my old Ryzen 3 3300X. Now, my GPU (a 5700 XT) isn't displaying any output, even though it was working perfectly before the upgrade. The boot sequence goes through all the components fine initially, then the GPU fans start up but stop after a few seconds, leaving me with a black screen. The RGB lights on the GPU are on, but the motherboard indicates there's an issue with the VGA. My BIOS is fine, and I've checked the GPU slot and power supply, so I'm at a loss about what else to check. Can anyone provide some advice? I noticed since switching the CPUs back and forth, my system showed signs of life again, but I still need help figuring out what's causing the output issue.

It sounds like there might be a corruption in your video drivers. You could try a power cycle by unplugging your PC and replugging it multiple times to reset it. If you can get to safe mode, use DDU to uninstall the graphics drivers and then reinstall the latest ones from AMD. Also, double-check that your power supply isn’t bottlenecking your hardware—650W should be fine, but it’s worth verifying.

Have you updated your BIOS? Sometimes a new CPU requires the latest BIOS version to function correctly. If the GPU isn’t giving you any output, that might be the issue. If you haven't flashed the BIOS yet, consider doing that.

First off, check your power supply. What wattage are you using? Also, see if you can try a different connector for the GPU. In your BIOS settings, make sure to disable any onboard video options—this might help. Another suggestion is to try booting into Windows without the GPU installed. Once Windows is up and running, you can install the GPU again but only with one monitor connected.

If the problem persists, try removing the GPU entirely and booting with the onboard graphics, if available. But since you mentioned your motherboard and CPU don't have integrated graphics, you could skip this step.
