Recently, while playing Code Vein 2, my computer overheated and forcefully shut down after about 30 minutes. Now, it won't post at all. The USB ports aren't working, and though there's a connection on the display, nothing shows up. The lights on the computer turn on, and all the fans are working.
So far, I've tried a few things:
1. Removing and reseating both RAM sticks.
2. Removing and reseating the GPU.
3. Resetting the CMOS by taking out the battery for a few minutes and then putting it back in.
4. Cleaning out dust with compressed air.
Here are my specs:
- Intel i7 11700
- 16GB RAM
- RTX 3090
- 2TB SSD
- Windows 11
I'm not very tech-savvy, so most of my troubleshooting has come from other people's posts and YouTube guides. If you need any more information, just let me know! I really appreciate any help I can get, haha.

If the motherboard is not beeping or showing error codes, I’d recommend testing your power supply as well. Overheating could've caused it to malfunction. If you have a spare power supply, try connecting that. Other than that, look around for visual damage on the motherboard or GPU, like burnt components. Sometimes, the heat can cause irreversible damage. Good luck!
First off, it's good that the power is getting to the PC since the fans are spinning and the lights are on. It sounds like the motherboard might have taken some damage from the overheating, especially since nothing is posting. Have you checked if there are any error codes or beeping sounds when you try to boot? These can help narrow down the issue. Also, have you tried booting with just one stick of RAM to see if that helps? Sometimes, it’s a simple fix where one stick might be faulty.
Yeah, I’d definitely try booting with one stick of RAM. It’s a common troubleshooting step that can save a lot of headaches. Just make sure to switch them out if the first one doesn’t work!

I appreciate the advice! I'll definitely check the power supply and keep an eye out for any visible damage.
