Help! My Personal PC Won’t Connect After Fiber Installation

I just had Fiber internet installed in my neighborhood today, and while everything seems to be working fine on other devices, my personal PC is giving me trouble. It shows that I'm connected to the network, but I can't actually access the internet. Initially, it said I wasn't connected at all, so I updated my network driver, and now it says I'm connected, but I'm still unable to get online. Any advice for a Fiber newbie who's not very tech-savvy would be greatly appreciated!

It’s frustrating how some people can be on other forums. I think it’s great that you’re here seeking help. Don’t worry too much about the sub choice; the tech community can be tough sometimes, but most of us are here to help!

To help sort this out, could you clarify what type of Fiber setup you have? Is it a connection to the curb, or is it routed into your home? Also, how is your PC connected? Are you using Fiber directly, Ethernet, or WiFi? Understanding your setup will make it easier to diagnose the issue.

I’m curious how you were able to update the network driver without being connected to the internet at all. Are you still using your old service from Xfinity to stay online during the switch? That could explain some of the confusion.
