Hey everyone! I've run into a weird issue with my Motorola G Play. A small bead got stuck in the headphone jack, and when I took it to a repair shop, they told me it's lodged too deep to remove without damaging the jack. They suggested I get an adapter to use my headphones through the charging port, which I plan to do. However, the problem I'm facing now is that my phone thinks the bead is actually a pair of headphones, so I can't hear anything through the speakers. Is there a way to override this? Should I attempt to remove the bead myself or ask the shop to try and get it out despite the potential damage? Any suggestions would be really appreciated! I can't go without my music for too long!

Okay, I’m gonna say this is a bad idea, but if I were in your shoes, I would try using some fine-tipped tweezers to carefully pry it out. Just turn off your phone first! There’s a chance of damaging it, but you never know unless you try. Make sure to read other advice too!
Have you thought about using a bead-hole sander? They’re narrow and can slowly grind it out without too much risk of damaging your phone.
I could try, thanks!
If your phone thinks the headphone port is occupied, it's likely that the adapter won’t work either. You might just have to get that bead removed first before you can get back to using your phone normally!
I feared that might happen, thanks.
No.

I tried with tweezers, honestly I think I'll just try to get it out again. Thanks!
