I've created a mobile app that performs full backups of websites, including the database. This has really saved me multiple times since I frequently manage several sites. Given how powerful smartphones are nowadays, do you think this approach is a bad idea? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I don't really get why you'd need a mobile app for that. Couldn’t you just set it up on your computer?
I wouldn’t say it’s absurd, but it does raise some red flags. If you have to do this often on your phone, it suggests there might be an issue with your overall workflow. Also, storing sensitive credentials on your mobile device could open up vulnerabilities. It’s great that it works for you, but definitely think about revisiting your workflows and security practices if backups are a frequent necessity.
Thanks for your insight! I should clarify, I only store the backup itself. No sensitive data is saved on my phone.
If you were doing regular scheduled backups from a secure environment and weren’t storing your login credentials in a third-party app, wouldn’t that be even more effective?
Haha, exactly! Just think about all the security risks involved.
For sure! Always good to have a backup plan.

In case of emergencies, it’s simple to use on the go!
