Hi everyone! I recently assembled a new PC and picked up some components before the price hike hit. I got Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s memory, but I'm having trouble getting my build to POST. I took it to a local repair shop, and they said my motherboard isn't compatible with the RAM. I tested with different RAM, and that worked fine. Here are my specs: CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3D and Motherboard - Gigabyte B850 Gaming X Wifi6e. I'm pretty sure my CPU isn't the issue, but the motherboard might be a problem. Can anyone suggest a compatible motherboard or how to ensure that my RAM will work? I'm lost on how to verify compatibility and concerned about current RAM prices!

Your RAM actually comes with an EXPO profile, so it should be compatible. It might be worth reaching out to Patriot for support on this issue. They might have insights on specific BIOS settings that could help.
That RAM should work fine with your motherboard. Sometimes, DDR5 needs to run for a while to 'memory train' on first boot. If your system is still not responding, try installing just one RAM stick at a time to rule out a defective one. The first boot may also take a bit longer, so give it some time before losing hope!
Your RAM should POST without any issues, especially considering it's a good choice for your CPU. If the repair shop says it's incompatible, they might not have tested everything correctly. Have you tried all the slots? A quick tip: try one stick in the A2 slot, and don't forget to clear the CMOS just in case you hit a weird setting. If the motherboard doesn’t power on at all, troubleshooting might be necessary to check for other issues.
