Help! My RTX 5070 Won’t Power Up, What Should I Do?

I just got my RTX 5070 FE and a new 750W Corsair PSU, but I'm struggling to get the GPU to power on with my computer. I specifically bought this power supply, and I'm using the included 12V 2x6 connector that's supposed to be ready for the 50 series. I've tried reseating the GPU, but it still won't turn on. I've also attempted to use the 12 pin cable that connects to two PCIe cables from the PSU, but nothing works. I've made sure everything is plugged in securely. Just for context, I'm upgrading from a GTX 1660 and I have an Intel i7 7700. I know there might be some bottlenecking, but I plan on upgrading my CPU soon.

Have you tried to boot with the integrated graphics? Also, check if you can see the memory chips or if the GPU die is visible from the side. Just making sure it's actually a GPU and not a scam!

Hey, it might seem basic, but ensure your monitor is connected to the GPU and not the motherboard. Sometimes, that's the simplest culprit!

I appreciate the tip! I did try plugging the monitor directly into the GPU, but no signal was detected. When I connect it to the motherboard, it works fine, but I don't see the GPU listed in Task Manager performance.

Make sure you're really pushing that power connection in! I had the same issue, and I had to push it in pretty hard until I thought it might break—just make sure everything is lined up first.

When you say power connection, do you mean the cable to the GPU, the PSU, or the motherboard? I thought I got them all in until I heard clicks, but should I focus on one specifically?

Not an expert here, but when I installed my 5070, it defaulted to my CPU graphics until I installed the proper drivers for it. You might want to check that out!

Good call! Would the GPU not display anything at all until the correct drivers are installed? I did update my drivers before receiving the new card, but I haven’t specifically installed the drivers for the 5070 yet.
