I recently built my own computer and I'm having trouble getting my Samsung 990 PRO SSD to show up in Windows. I installed Windows on a SATA SSD, but I want to use the M.2 SSD for everything else. In the BIOS, my Samsung SSD is recognized, so I know the motherboard's slot is functioning. I even tried moving it to a different slot, but on the Windows side, I can't find it in Disk Management. I can see it in Device Manager under the storage section, but that's about it. Here's my setup:
- Motherboard: Asus TUF Z790 Plus
- CPU: i9-14900K
- OS: Windows 11
- SSD: SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280

Have you tried using Diskpart? You can open Command Prompt, type `diskpart`, then `list disk`. If the SSD shows up there, select it and run `clean` to wipe it. After that, you can create a new partition using Diskpart or Disk Management. Just a side note, why did you choose to install Windows on a SATA SSD instead of the NVMe? What model is your SATA SSD?
I ran the Diskpart commands and only my SATA SSD is visible.
My SATA SSD is a WD Blue 1TB.
Have you checked Disk Management? Right-click on the Start menu and select Disk Management. If the NVMe drive appears there, it might show up as unallocated space. You can right-click that space, format it to NTFS, and assign a drive letter to make it usable in Windows!
I can't see it in Disk Management at all!

I'm still learning about PC builds! A friend recommended it, but I'm not sure why.
