Help! My Screen Resolution Changed Suddenly and I Can’t Fix It

Hey everyone, I'm 15 and not super tech-savvy, so please be gentle with me! I was just scrolling through Twitter when my screen suddenly went black. After rebooting my PC, I noticed the resolution changed from 1920x1080 to 1280x1024, and now it's stuck there. My computer is also running really slow, and I can barely test Roblox—I keep getting disconnected before I can join a game, which is super frustrating. I looked online for solutions, but a lot of the advice seemed to apply to issues at startup, and I can't find any that fit my situation. I read somewhere that it could be a driver issue, but mine are up to date. Oh, and my monitor is actually an old TV. I'm worried it might be related to my GPU since someone mentioned it might not be compatible with Windows anymore. If anyone could help me out with an easier solution, I'd really appreciate it!

First off, don’t worry, we’ve all been there! The first thing you should try is downloading the latest GPU drivers directly from the manufacturer’s website, either Nvidia or AMD, depending on what you have. That should help fix the display issues. If you haven’t done that yet, give it a shot!

Thanks for the quick response! I tried that, but it didn’t work. I got an error saying there’s a possible problem with the display device.

Also, keep an eye on your GPU temperatures. If you already have software like AMD Adrenaline or GeForce Experience, check those. It might not be complicated, so look through those programs to troubleshoot any issues! Don't stress, you can figure this out!

It sounds like your display drivers might not be installed properly. Have you tried rebooting your PC by pressing Alt + F4? Also, you could reinstall the display drivers. Using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove them first could help, then reinstall the latest ones again. It's a bit of a hassle, but it might fix your problem!
