I've been using my Sharp BP-70C31 printer to scan documents directly to my Google email without any issues. Recently, I started getting an ERROR[3332]: Connection to SMTP server test failed. The authentication seems to fail, despite entering the correct username and password. I'm using a Gsuite account through smtp.gmail.com. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

If you're using Google Workspace, setting up an App password is pretty straightforward. Just go to your Google account settings, find 'Security', and look for 'App passwords' under 'Signing in to Google'. Once you generate a password, use that for your printer authentication instead of your regular password.
I’ve read that after May 1, Google requires either OAuth or Google App passwords to connect. If you keep getting that error, you might need to switch to one of those methods for your setup to work. It’s worth checking your email settings to see what’s currently configured.
It sounds like Google might have made some changes on their end. We faced something similar with our Sage ERP setup. You may want to check out the instructions here on Google's support page to see if you need to tweak anything: https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en. Also, make sure to update your SPF record for your public IP, since it typically defaults to just Google settings, and yours might need some changes.
