I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, and it recently started having issues where it wouldn't detect the SIM card. Restarting usually worked, but this time it didn't. When I took out the SIM card, it was gone! I could shake my phone and hear it inside, but I can't find it anywhere. I really need my SIM card back, but I just bought a new phone to avoid being without it. Is there a way to retrieve the SIM without breaking my old phone? I don't have any small screwdrivers or tools, but I'm willing to try something if necessary. Any advice would be appreciated!

You might want to take it to a phone repair shop, especially since you can't see the SIM card in the tray anymore. They have the right tools and can help retrieve it without damaging your phone.
Totally get that. If it's too expensive to fix, maybe consider just popping it open yourself.
Check out some DIY videos on YouTube! There's loads of stuff that might show you how to safely open up the device without ruining it. Just be careful!
I recently bought a little screwdriver set for projects like this at a local store. If you can find one of those, it might help get the phone open safely. Borrowing one could work too!
You could just deal with getting a new SIM or even an eSIM for the new phone. They update regularly, and you might actually get better service with a newer SIM even if you find the old one.
That’s true, but I need the old SIM to facilitate getting the eSIM. It’s a bit of a catch-22.
Honestly, you might end up having to cut it open. Luckily, Xiaomi seems to have slower digesting traits, so if you do that, just be careful. It could work!

Yeah, I thought about that, but I've got a new phone now and I don't want to spend more on repairs than getting a new SIM.
