Help! My SSD Drive Is Missing After a Linux Installation

I was trying to download Linux on my laptop, and it prompted me to disable Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST), which I did, so I could install Linux in AHCI mode. However, I ran into multiple issues with Linux, including locked fan control in the BIOS, so I switched back to Windows, but now I'm facing a storage nightmare. Out of two 512GB SSDs I had, I now see:
1. A ~460GB drive, which I think has leftover data from the Linux install.
2. A completely missing 512GB drive.
3. Windows keeps throwing an error saying, "one of your volumes has failed" every time I restart.

Is there any way to recover my missing storage?

Did you by chance format the missing drive when you were using Linux? That can sometimes cause issues with partitions and what shows up in Windows. I recently saw a post similar to yours; that's why I ask!

Yes, I formatted the drive I’m using now when installing Linux, but the missing one... I actually clicked "delete partition" on it during the Windows installation, and it ended up creating two tiny partitions instead of using the entire drive.

Honestly, considering that Optane technology was discontinued a few years back, it might be contributing to the problem if that's what you were using. Your SSD could be malfunctioning due to age, especially after the recent changes you made. You might want to look into that possibility.

Both SSDs were functioning just fine until I did the installation. The one I'm using now seems perfect, so I don't think it's a total hardware failure.
