I recently bought an SSD, and it worked fine initially. However, I ran into a problem where I can't transfer any archives or games to it because I keep getting a "writing disk error." When I tried formatting it, it seemed to work, but now the drive doesn't show up in Disk Management. It appears initially but then disappears, giving me an error message saying, "A device that does not exist has been specified." I've checked the BIOS, changed the cables, and tested it on another PC, but nothing works. I even tried formatting it through the command prompt and various programs, but I'm stuck. My PC takes a long time to start up when the drive is plugged in. I'm planning to send it for repair this week if I can't figure it out. I received the drive on the 23rd, and it came from China. Could this be a regional issue?

Your SSD could be failing or just not connected properly. If it works a bit and then goes missing, that often indicates a hardware issue. Have you tried a different SATA port?
It’s unlikely this is a regional issue. From what you’re describing, it sounds like issues that come from a faulty controller or a counterfeit product. At this point, I wouldn’t waste more time troubleshooting—it’s probably better to return or repair it.
What should I do next? Just send it in for repair?
It sounds like you might have a counterfeit SSD. They can label a smaller drive as bigger by tricking the system with fake file systems. It’s possible that what you received isn’t what you were sold.
Can you explain that a bit more? How can I tell if it’s fake?
I experienced something similar, and I found that running certain software can help identify the actual size. Just be careful!
What’s the size of your SSD, and how much did it cost you? Sometimes, if it’s too cheap for the capacity, it may not be legit.
It’s supposed to be 4TB, and I bought it online. It seemed like a good deal, but now I'm not so sure.

Yeah, I tried that. I'm using SATA III and have another SSD connected. I even tested it on a different PC.
