Help! My Steam games keep crashing on Zorin OS, what can I do?

I've been using Zorin OS for about a week, and while I've managed to sort out most issues for someone who's only familiar with HTML and CSS, I'm running into a frustrating problem. When I try to launch a game in Steam, specifically one called 'POOLS', a black window appears for a moment before closing again. This isn't just an issue with Steam, as I managed to play another game, 'A Milk Inside a Bag of Milk', without problems. I checked the files and saw there's a Linux version for 'POOLS', but it's not launching correctly. I also tried another game, 'FAITH', and ran into the same problem. I didn't download 'FAITH' via itch.io since there doesn't seem to be a Linux version available. I did get some crash details from messing with itch.io, but I don't understand them at all. Can anyone help me decode this or give me tips on how to fix these crashes? I appreciate any guidance since I've mostly figured things out through trial and error!

It sounds like you might be missing some graphics drivers or there's an issue with the runtime. I recommend forcing Proton in Steam for the game, which could improve compatibility. Just a heads up, don't spend money on games until you know they'll work on your setup, especially since you’re using newer hardware! If you want help with using Proton, just ask!

Have you considered trying to run the game with Proton? It's a compatibility layer that allows many Windows games to run on Linux. If you haven't already tried it, it might just do the trick for you!
