I recently bought a used computer setup from Gumtree, which included just the power supply, motherboard, and processor. After installing everything in a new case, I've been unable to boot to the BIOS. I've tried various troubleshooting methods like resetting the CMOS, changing the battery, swapping RAM slots, and even testing it in the original case, but still no luck. Right now, the PC powers on, but the fans keep cutting out every few seconds, and I don't see anything on the screen or BIOS. Without the graphics card and hard drive connected, are there any other steps I could take to diagnose the issue? Or has my purchase turned out to be a dud? I'm open to buying a new motherboard or processor if necessary, but I'm unsure which component might be causing the issue. Here are the parts I have: Gigabyte B450m DS3H, Ryzen 5 5600x, GTX 660TI (only for testing).

It's tough to assist without all the part details. What exactly do you have?
It sounds like you might have a boot loop or a short somewhere. Make sure you’re using the correct 8-pin power cables for the CPU, as they can look similar to GPU cables but are wired differently. Also, double-check that the CPU and RAM are firmly seated. Since most Ryzen CPUs don’t have integrated graphics, remember that you need a dedicated GPU to get a display output. Good luck!
That makes sense! I actually removed one RAM stick, and it's running now without looping, but still no display. I've checked the CPU pins too, so I'm stumped.
Oops, my bad! I have a Gigabyte B450m DS3H motherboard and a Ryzen 5 5600x processor.
