I'm having a major issue with my Windows 10 PC and could really use some advice. Sometimes it feels like it's taking forever just to type in my password, and once I get logged in, everything is still lagging. The desktop loads, but the taskbar doesn't show up, and hovering over files doesn't highlight them as it should. When I try to open folders or right-click, it barely works. I ran a system scan using the task manager, but it's moving at a snail's pace and has only completed 8% since last night. My disk usage shows 100%, and while the CPU and memory seem okay, I'm not sure what's causing the sluggishness. I can't access the start menu to perform recovery options, and I want to avoid formatting because I have a lot of important documents saved. The trouble started two days ago after I was working with a PDF and had to force shut down the PC. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do next?

To add to that, not just any SSD will do. Look for one that fits your budget and has enough storage for what you need. You’ll also want to use it as your primary drive for the OS and possibly your important programs, while keeping your old drive for files. If you need any tips on installation, just ask!
It sounds like your hard drive might be getting overloaded. A lot of users have found that switching to an SSD (solid-state drive) can dramatically speed things up. It’s usually an easy upgrade and you might notice significant performance improvements. Do you have any questions about how to go about it?
