Hey everyone, I need some serious help! I've been using my Nitro gaming laptop for over 4 years now, and it was running Windows 10 until this morning. When I turned it on today to access some files, my screen wouldn't light up. Suddenly, it restarted and began installing updates. Once it was done, I noticed that only my husband's user profile is available – mine and my son's are completely gone! I'm especially worried because my profile had tons of important files for school, gaming, work, and pictures that I might not have backed up properly since I hadn't accessed them in a few weeks. We've looked for any hidden profiles or temporary accounts, but it's just my husband's. I'm really upset that Windows forcibly upgraded, and now it feels like all my files are lost. I'm desperate to find a way to recover my profile and files!

Don't panic just yet! Windows often keeps your data, but it might be messing with your account links. Here’s what you can do:
1. **Check C:Users**: Open File Explorer and head to C:Users. Look for folders with your name or your son’s name, or even something like User.000/User.bak. Your files should be in there.
2. **Hidden profiles**: Sometimes you get logged into a temporary profile. Press Win+R, type netplwiz, and see if your accounts are still there. You can also check in Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.
3. **System Restore**: Type "Recovery" in the start menu and open System Restore. If there’s a restore point from before your update, you can roll back.
4. **File Recovery Tools**: If you still don’t see anything, try software like Recuva or PhotoRec to scan for lost files, but make sure to check the above first!
We found some of my files on the D drive, which is odd. He's currently checking if everything's there and mentioned that there's still some weird stuff happening during the update.
