Help! My Windows 11 Keeps Freezing with a Critical Process Died Error

I'm having a serious issue after installing Windows 11 on my setup, which includes a Ryzen 7 5700X, RX 9070XT, and a ROG Strix B550-F Gaming motherboard with a 4TB SATA SSD. After a few hours of regular use, I encounter a 'Critical Process Died' error whenever a process becomes unresponsive, like Steam or Settings. This causes a complete freeze of my system and the BIOS, resulting in a black screen with the message 'Press DEL or F2 to enter BIOS.' Unfortunately, I can't interact with it at all. The only way I can recover is by removing the SATA drive and resetting the PC with a bootable USB to format it.

I've formatted the SSD, reinstalled Windows, and even tried Linux, but it still freezes without showing error messages. My setup includes a working 4TB SATA SSD and an NVMe M.2 SSD that my motherboard doesn't detect. I've checked the RAM, cables, and drivers, and I even ran a MemTest86, but nothing seems to help. Since this is my first time building a PC, I apologize for any language errors. I'm looking for any advice to resolve this issue!

Hey! Just a thought, but have you tried running your system with just the basics? Remove any unnecessary components and run with only the essentials. Sometimes, too many peripherals can cause conflicts that lead to freezing issues. It's also worth revisiting your power supply connections to ensure everything's tight and secure.

To get a more accurate diagnosis of your issue, you should look for dump files from the crashes. If you can access Windows or Safe Mode, check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for any files. Upload these to a file-sharing site like MediaFire or Catbox, and we can help analyze them. Also, consider changing your dump settings to Small Memory Dump for better insights!

Have you checked your BIOS version? Make sure to unplug any drives, especially that M.2 SSD if it's not being detected. It might be beneficial to update your BIOS, as version 3405 specifically mentions improved support for graphics cards with M.2 storage, which could be causing your issues. Just be careful and remove that M.2 drive before you proceed with the update!
