Hey everyone! When I set up my PC about a year ago, I divided my SSD into two partitions: one for Windows and the other for everything else like programs and games. Now, I've run into a problem—my Windows partition is full, which is causing some issues. I thought 70GB would be enough, but it seems like that's not the case. I'm not entirely sure what else I can provide to help diagnose this issue. For reference, I'm running Windows build 26100.6901. Thanks for any insights you can share!

70GB is definitely on the small side! Windows 11 has a minimum requirement of 64GB just for the OS, and that doesn't even cover future updates. A good rule of thumb these days is to aim for at least 150GB for the OS partition. Also, keep in mind that some applications still install files on the OS partition even if you set them to install elsewhere. You might want to check your temp file locations and potentially move your page file to another partition.
Have you tried using WhizzTree to see what files are taking up the most space? Also, running a Disk Cleanup as an administrator can help clear out temporary files and old update remnants. Don't forget to empty your recycle bin too. If space is still tight, it might be time to invest in an additional drive!
If your D partition has mostly games and photos, why not delete it and then extend your C drive? After that, you can reinstall your games. It's a hassle trying to manage two separate partitions when Windows updates need so much space. Ideally, you'll want at least 128GB for the OS.
Make sure to clear your web browser's cache and delete any unnecessary files. Also, consider moving large applications like Steam games to your other partition if you haven’t done that already.
Instead of endlessly shifting files back and forth, you could just resize your partitions. A third-party tool like MiniTool Partition Wizard can help you combine the partitions—just remember to back everything up first to avoid any data loss. Given that Windows updates can require significantly more space, you might want to expand your C drive instead.

Absolutely, those cleanup steps can free up some space. Plus, adding a new drive can really alleviate the storage crunch!
