I'm assisting my friend in building a gaming PC specifically for World of Warcraft. From what I understand, WoW is quite CPU intensive and takes advantage of 3D cache capabilities. Here's the current build I've put together, which totals around 1300 euros plus an additional 140 euros for assembly:
* **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
* **CPU Cooler:** Scythe Mugen 6 Dual Fan 60.29 CFM CPU Cooler
* **Motherboard:** ASRock B850 Pro-A ATX AM5 Motherboard
* **Memory:** Kingston FURY Beast 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
* **Storage:** Lexar NM790 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe Solid State Drive
* **Video Card:** Asus PRIME OC Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB Video Card
* **Case:** Corsair FRAME 4000D RS ATX Mid Tower Case
* **Power Supply:** Corsair RM750e (2023) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
I'm looking for any thoughts or suggestions you might have!

Does he even have a monitor that can take advantage of this build? If not, you might want to rethink the expenses. This setup could easily run WoW at 1440p with 120fps. If he doesn't have a good monitor, consider scaling back!
This build will absolutely handle WoW with no issues, you did a great job putting it together!
I think you could save some cash by switching out the Corsair case for a more budget-friendly option. That extra money could go towards upgrading to a 2x16GB RAM kit instead of the current 2x8GB setup. It’ll be a more future-proof option!
I did suggest 32GB, but he insists 16GB is enough for him. Do you have any case recommendations? We’re really trying to cut costs.
Honestly, it's pretty limiting to only stick with 16GB of RAM in a build like this. You'll be fine if it's just WoW, but for multitasking or running background apps, you'll regret it pretty quickly. I'd really push for at least 32GB!
I know, I mentioned 32GB, but he says he focuses on just one thing at a time, like WoW and maybe Spotify.
I totally agree about the RAM. Given how things are going in 2025, I'd stick with at least 32GB. My setup has 64GB just to be safe. 16GB feels cramped if you want to run other stuff too, like having browser tabs open.
I’ve brought it up, but he’s very focused and only runs WoW and maybe Spotify, so he doesn’t think he needs more than 16GB.
Yes, he’s got an M27Q monitor, so he should be good to go.
