I created an account to ask for help on behalf of my elderly neighbor. She's been having trouble with her TV, which suddenly stopped picking up any channels after she accidentally pressed something while cleaning the remote. The TV is a 5-year-old LG model without smart functions, connected via a satellite cable. I've tried all the usual fixes—checking cables, rebooting the device, and going through the automatic channel search multiple times using various settings, but nothing has worked. Every time I initiate a search, the TV asks for a provider—UPC or another provider—but I have to input a lot of information, which is confusing. There's also an Eycos receiver nearby, but it's not connected to the TV. I really want to help her, as the TV means a lot to her. Any advice on how to troubleshoot this problem?

Have you tried pressing the "Input" button on the remote? Sometimes it can help select the right source for the channels. Also, avoid messing with the kHz settings—stick to automatic searches for now.
It sounds like there might be a misunderstanding with the connections. Make sure that the Eycos receiver is actually connected to the TV. If it’s just sitting there not plugged in, it won’t do anything. Try plugging it in and then connecting the output from the receiver to the TV. After that, adjust the input settings on the TV itself. Good luck!
With the limited information, it's tough to say for sure. But if everything is plugged in correctly, we might need to check where the satellite dish is pointing. If it’s aimed at Astra 19.2, try manually adding a channel like ZDF with these settings: 11954 H, 27500 3/4. Let me know if that works!

Thanks for the tip! Just to clarify, does the receiver need to be connected through HDMI or another type of cable?
