I'm having trouble with my laptop. When I turn it on, I get an error message saying I need to install software on my hard drive, specifically showing error 3F0. I can boot from a USB drive with Tails on it, but I can't access Windows anymore. I need to fix this by Monday because I have a new work-from-home job starting. I even took my laptop apart to make sure the hard drive is connected, and everything looks fine. However, when I check my partitions from Tails, my hard drive appears as an unknown partition. Is there any way to install Windows from Tails? It's asking to apply an image to the partition, but I don't have anything ready to apply.

If your Windows installation is encrypted or has specific features, it might show as an unknown partition. You might want to consider that your hard drive could be failing. The error 3F0 typically means your computer can't find a bootable device, which is usually a sign of a problem with the hard drive or SSD. Do you see an EFI partition on your Windows drive?
I know it's a Windows drive, but I asked in this sub because the only way I can boot is through Linux right now.
No, the drive just shows 1 TB with one volume, and it all says unknown.
