I'm posting on behalf of my boyfriend, who built his own PC with the following configuration:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5700G
- Motherboard: B550M Aorus Elite
- GPU: RTX 3060
- RAM: 32GB
- Power Supply: Corsair RM 850e
- Storage: 1TB Samsung SSD
Despite this solid setup, he can't get over 50fps while gaming, even on lower settings. He's already re-downloaded all the drivers, checked for updates, and adjusted the settings, but nothing seems to improve his performance. His benchmark scores are around 2900, which seems low for this hardware. He's experiencing constant lag, and we're wondering if there could be compatibility issues or other problems. Any suggestions on how we can troubleshoot this? Thanks!
P.S. He's connecting the monitor using HDMI from the graphics card, not the motherboard.

First thing to do is check the temperatures of the CPU and GPU. Make sure they aren't overheating, especially when gaming—ideally, keep CPU temps below 80°C. If they’re alright, think about reinstalling Windows; it can sometimes help clear up weird issues.

His temps max out at 70°C, so overheating shouldn't be an issue.
