Help Needed with Modifying Game Save Files

I'm looking for some guidance on tampering with save files for a game I recently played, Phantom Rose 2: Sapphire. After finishing it, I wanted to avoid the grind in the latest update since I lost my save file. I attempted to use Cheat Engine for some currency hacks but had no luck. Now, I've found where the save file is stored, but I can't make heads or tails of it. I'll share a snippet of the file in the comments so you can see what I'm dealing with. Any advice?

Unfortunately, editing those files isn't as straightforward as it seems. If the save file contains more than just currency information and is compressed or encrypted, you'll probably face a lot of hurdles. It might be worth considering just replaying the game if it's not too much of a hassle.

Thanks for the advice! I’m leaning towards redoing it rather than risking corrupting anything.

It sounds like you're looking at a binary file rather than a plain text file. That's why Cheat Engine isn't working for you. Game save files often contain a lot of different data, and they can be compressed or even encrypted. Decoding them can take a lot of time and isn't always reliable unless you know exactly how it's structured. Good luck!

Yeah, binary files can be a real pain. Sometimes it's just simpler to start a new game instead of digging too deep into those files. Just my two cents!
