I recently bought Assassin's Creed Unity on Steam, but when I try to launch the game, Ubisoft Connect is asking for an activation key that I never received. The game is supposed to activate automatically through Steam, so I'm really confused about this. Here's what I've tried so far:
- Reinstalled Ubisoft Connect
- Verified the game files on Steam
- Cleared cache, rebooted, re-logged, and linked my accounts again
- Contacted Ubisoft Support on May 11th, but I still haven't received a response; my ticket is still marked as 'In Progress'
- I tweeted at @UbisoftSupport, but that was ignored
- I posted about the issue on their official Discord, but got no response
- Steam support says this is Ubisoft's responsibility and they only offered a refund
At this point, I've paid for a game I can't even play, and it's been over a week without any help from Ubisoft. I really don't want to refund the game; I just want to play it! Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a way to escalate the situation?

Have you tried right-clicking on the game in your Steam library, going to Manage, and checking for a CD Key there? Some older games have their CD keys listed this way. I'm not sure about AC Unity specifically, but it’s worth a shot!
Yeah, I checked that. I know some games require a CD key, but I've read that AC Unity should link automatically to my Ubisoft account, which it did. The launcher still insists I need a key, though.
