Hey everyone! About three days ago, I accidentally spilled a decent amount of water on my laptop keyboard. At first, everything seemed fine, but about six hours later, parts of the keyboard stopped responding. I took off the back cover, hoping it would dry out and work again, but nothing has changed since. I'm not sure what my next step should be. Any suggestions? My laptop is a Thinkpad X270.

Yeah, if it’s just water, there's still hope! But unfortunately, waiting until parts stop working isn’t ideal. A repair shop could check it out, but it might be a goner if issues persist. For next time, make sure to react fast!
Wouldn't hurt to get a professional opinion, but I'd be surprised if it's still functional. And remember, if you ever spill something sticky like soda, just get a new keyboard - those liquids are a nightmare for electronics!
Honestly, you should've turned it upside down and disconnected the power right away. If it's just water, you might still have a chance. But since you didn't, the water may have caused some damage. If you can connect an external keyboard and that works, it might be time to replace the laptop keyboard. Look for a repair guide online - it's doable with some patience!
Good call on using a towel initially, but next time, keep it off and dry for at least 48 hours! You might still get lucky, but if not, ordering a replacement could be the way to go. Best of luck!

I know, right? I totally learned my lesson the hard way this time.
