I'm new to building PCs and I've run into a problem while trying to install my 4090 Strix GPU. There's a metal wall or blocker in the PCI slot, and it's preventing me from inserting the graphics card. I've double-checked and my motherboard (ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming WiFi D4) is compatible with the GPU. Am I missing something here?

It sounds like you might have a protective cover still on your GPU's PCIe connector. There's a notch on the connector that lines up with the slot, so if you're having trouble, make sure to remove any plastic covers before trying to install it. That could be what's blocking you!
Yeah, I made that mistake once. It's a common rookie error! Just check it out!
