I've been facing some frustrating DNS issues lately, which are causing my internet to cut out randomly. Here's what I've tried so far:
- Winsock reset: Done
- TCP/IP reset: Done
- IPv6 reset: Done
- Flushed DNS cache: Done
- Released/Renewed IP: Done
- Applied manual DNS using `netsh`: Done
- Stopped DNS cache: Not permitted
- Started DNS cache: Already running
- Turned off Firewall: No change
- Disabled Bitdefender: No effect
- Attempted time synchronization with `w32tm /resync`: Failed with error 0x8000F0915
**Symptoms I'm Experiencing:**
- Internet connection drops intermittently.
- When I ping google.com, it fails. However, pinging 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS) works.
- The `nslookup` for google.com succeeds, so DNS seems partially functional.
- My Windows clock isn't syncing with daylight saving time, and time resync attempts result in an error.
**Configuration Confirmations:**
- Adapter in use: Wi-Fi
- IPv6 is disabled.
- Primary DNS is set to 8.8.8.8 with 1.1.1.1 as secondary.
- No VPN adapters active.
- Windows Defender Firewall is off without any effect.
- Bitdefender is not connected.
It appears that the root cause might be a corrupted or blocked Windows DNS Client, potentially due to residual VPN filters, LSP corruption, or a damaged resolver cache. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? What could be going wrong here?

Have you checked if other devices on your network can access the internet properly? This might help narrow down the issue.

Yeah, I’ve tried my laptop, phone, and TV, and they all connect fine.
