I've been having some issues with my PC recently. I can't see any options to connect to the Internet, and it seems like only the Ethernet connection is working. I purchased a LAN cable, but now the troubleshooting tool says it doesn't have a valid IP configuration. I've spent a couple of hours trying to find a solution by watching various videos, but nothing has worked so far. Can someone help me out with this? I'd appreciate a simple explanation since I'm not very tech-savvy.

I get that this can be frustrating! What have you already tried to fix it?
It sounds like there might be some confusion with your setup. When you say you bought Ethernet, did you mean you got a LAN cable? And is your WiFi working on other devices? You mentioned the WiFi isn’t functioning on your PC specifically, which might indicate a problem with the drivers or the network settings. More info would help us help you better!
It’s possible that a Windows update messed up your WiFi drivers. What you can do is download the latest drivers from the official website, but I realize you might have trouble doing that because of your current Internet issues. You could try using your phone's hotspot to access the website or seek out the drivers from another device.
