Hey everyone! I'm relatively new to the world of computer hardware and could really use your help. I've been gaming on an RTX 2060 since 2019, but a friend recently gave me their RTX 3060 after upgrading themselves. I swapped out the GPUs and made sure to update my drivers through the Nvidia software, but now I'm dealing with some significant frame stuttering. When I check the stats, I see my 1% low frame rate dropping to 10 fps at times, and it happens even when I'm just on my desktop.
I've done some research and found suggestions about using DDU to completely uninstall and then reinstall the drivers. However, I'm a bit confused about the process—do I really need to disconnect from the internet to uninstall the drivers? Can someone help clarify this for me? I'd really appreciate any advice!

Using DDU is a smart move since it clears all old driver remnants that a simple update might miss. Also, have you checked if your power supply unit (PSU) can handle the 3060? An older or underpowered PSU could lead to performance issues. If you're not sure about your specs, an outdated CPU might also be causing bottlenecks in performance. Make sure to get those checked!

I think my CPU is a SteelSeries. I can't see my PSU's label from where it's positioned, so that could be an issue. By the way, is it safe to uninstall the drivers, go back online, and then download the new Nvidia drivers?
