I've got an ASUS ROG Strix B350F motherboard with a Ryzen 7 2700X, 32GB of Corsair RAM (4x8GB), an 850W Corsair PSU, and an RTX 3080 Ti. Today, I attempted to upgrade to a Ryzen 9 5950X. I made sure to update the BIOS to version 6232 beforehand, and everything was running smoothly with the 2700X before the swap. However, after installing the new CPU, the power comes on, fans start spinning, and I hear the usual post beep, but I'm stuck with a blank screen.
I've tried removing three RAM sticks and swapping them around, clearing the CMOS both with jumpers and removing the battery, and even switching from DisplayPort on the GPU to HDMI on the motherboard, but nothing seems to work. I've reseated the CPU and checked all the connections. It's driving me crazy!
Is it possible I needed to install multiple older BIOS updates first? What else can I try? I didn't unplug the CPU cooler since it's a liquid one, so that couldn't have affected anything either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you get the 5950X new or used? If it's used, there's a chance it might not be working. There shouldn’t be any problem with just jumping to the latest BIOS update; your motherboard supports that CPU. Also, how long did you wait after the post beep? Sometimes it takes a bit for the system to recognize new hardware.
Try booting with just one RAM stick at a time, using the right slot for single-channel operation. Also, make sure you have the latest chipset drivers installed. They might not stop a boot-up, but they’re good to have for compatibility. One last thing to check is if your GPU needs a firmware update, though that's less likely since the GPU was working fine before.

I haven't really waited long after the post beep. Maybe I need to give it a few more minutes. I'll try booting again and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to see if that helps.
