Help with PCIe Slot Limitations on Power Supply

I'm in a bit of a bind with my power supply situation. I'm planning to get the Corsair RM850x, which has five PCIe and EPS slots available. Here's the catch: I need two slots for the CPU since I'm overclocking, and three slots for my 9070 XT graphics card. This leaves me with no slots for the iCUE hub I want to use. Is it possible to use the 12V-2x6 cable that splits into two 8-pin connectors (6+2 split) sold by Corsair? If I do, would that give me two extra usable PCIe slots?

Sounds like you’re in the clear! Just to clarify, the RM850x usually comes with three PCIe 8-pin cables and two EPS/ATX 12V cables. If you max out those cables, you'll use all five slots on the PSU. But with the 12V-2x6 splitter, you should have an extra two slots free, which is great for future upgrades!

Yes, using that 12V-2x6 splitter would definitely work for your setup. Just make sure to double-check how many cables actually come with the PSU rather than just looking at the slots. Many PSUs don’t come with enough cables to fill all the ports, so knowing what you get with it is important. The Corsair RM850x may only include a couple of PCIe cables, or it might already include the 12V-2x6 cable, so keep that in mind.
