Help with RAM Speed Issues on My New PC Build

Hey everyone! I recently built my first PC and it's running smoothly, but I noticed something odd: my RAM, which is rated for 6400MHz, is only showing up as 4800MHz in Task Manager. Here's a quick rundown of my setup: I'm using an ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU, and I've got two Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM sticks with a total of 32GB. I've updated the BIOS, installed the RAM in slots 2 and 4, and enabled the XMP profile, but I don't seem to have an EXPO option available. When I try to set the frequency to 6400MHz manually, it stays gray and doesn't let me change it. Even after saving the XMP profile, it still shows 4800MHz in BIOS. I'm really at a loss here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might be hitting a common issue. Some RAM kits designed for AMD only come with an XMP profile, so they might not support EXPO. The typical recommended speed for DDR5 memory with AM5 CPUs is actually 6000MT/s. When you tried to set the XMP profile for 6400MT/s, your system likely couldn't boot at that speed and defaulted back to 4800MT/s. I'd recommend enabling the XMP profile for 6400MT/s and then manually changing the memory speed in your BIOS to 6000MT/s. Make sure to hit F10 to save and exit, then check back in the BIOS to see if the settings are correctly applied!

Thanks for the quick tips! Is that memory speed setting referred to as "DRAM frequency" in the BIOS?
