Help with RGB Setup on ExtremeGamer Prebuilt Fan Hub

Hey folks! I recently modified my ExtremeGamer Classic Level 3 prebuilt by swapping out the motherboard. Everything is running smoothly, but I'm having some trouble getting the RGB lights on my fans to work properly. Here's the scoop:

I have four fans connected to a generic ExtremeGamer fan hub - three in the front and one in the back. Each fan has two cables: one for power and the other for RGB. The hub is powered via SATA, and while the fans are spinning fine, I'm stuck on the RGB.

The hub has three labeled ports: PWM, VDG, and LED, but here's the kicker: the case didn't come with proper cables for these ports. Instead, a 1-2 pin cable (like Power SW or Reset SW) was plugged in to make the RGB work, which caused one of my USB ports to stop functioning correctly. It seems like they rigged the RGB controls using the case button cable, and I want to fix this the right way without affecting my USB setup.

I suspect I need to connect something to the VDG, LED, and PWM ports on the fan hub and then properly connect it to my motherboard's RGB port, but I'm not sure how to proceed. If anyone has experience with this kind of fan hub or has knowledge of ExtremeGamer prebuilts, I'd appreciate any guidance on the correct connections or a safe alternative solution! Thanks a lot!

Great job troubleshooting! The cables are definitely tricky. Most of the time, you’ll find that the reset button can also serve as an RGB controller in newer builds, which is why they opted for that setup. Just keep in mind that if you're not using the Reset SW for its original purpose, you can always switch it for LED control. Also, don't hesitate to explore forums or manuals specific to your case, as they can sometimes provide clarity on how newer systems are configured. Happy building!

Thanks for the insight! I've finally managed to connect it right, and the RGB is working beautifully now.

It sounds like you're on the right track! The VDG should be a 3-pin connector that works with ARGB. If you have the right cable that connects from VDG to ARGB on your motherboard, that will give you manual control over the RGB. Since the hub appears to have an built-in ARGB controller, try connecting the Reset SW back to the LED port. Many cases now use the reset button for LED controls, so pressing it a few times should light things up. If that doesn’t do the trick, you might also try temporarily bridging the pins with a screwdriver to reset the connection while the system is powered. Just be cautious with that method! Good luck!

I’ve just tried connecting the Reset SW to VDG, but it doesn't fit, even though it's 2 pins. (I've posted some photos in my thread!)

Actually, I found another connection at the bottom of the fan hub that was hard to spot. I plugged the Reset SW in there, and it worked! Thanks a ton for your help!
